Ok, so here it is, the new post for this year. I think I am doing well despite having time to write.

Merry Christmas!

Will try to post later.

It is Spring and my Camouflage is growing!

Have you ever met someone you saw on TV when you were a kid and you were an adult afterwards? I did.

I met Zane Smith, former major league baseball pitcher for the Braves, Pirates and Red Sox. Back then he had long hair and an aw-shucks look to him. See picture for reference.

Now he looks like this.

He seriously looked just like that with the sunglasses and visor.

Now, this was due to the Braves having an open house at Turner Field. My friend Andy

and I went with his boys and mine. You could say it was a baseball junkie's dream to be able to run the bases and pitch in the bullpen of a major league stadium. I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt like I could suit up and play. However, age and well age, will keep me from trying out.

However, I heard that the Pirates signed two players from India to be pitchers in the minor leagues. They won a reality TV show to get this spot.

Not sure if that is due to the lack of money they have or a brilliant strategy. They signed in 2008 so I do not know their progress, but I am sure they are movin on up. I could teach them the wicked knuckle ball that I have. Then they could prolong their careers by 20 yrs.

That's all for today. It is short, but hey, I wrote something. I will try to determine the best way to add mp3's to the blog and will share the quality music you have come to know and trust from me.

Peace and extra love from me to you!

Life Gets Funny out on Central Time

Howdy everyone!

Once again I am back and this time I am apolgizing.

Mr. David Ryan Adams, I am sorry for ranting about you quitting the music biz. I guess that I was upset as I like you music. Probably more than the average person. I had no idea you have veritgo/meinere's disease. That sucks! So in order to celebrate your music, I have asked Young Bradley to come up with his top 25 songs of yours. I have already tried narrowing it down, and will post what I come up with and what Brad has to say. Maybe I will treat someone with an MP3, who knows. Anway, I say Mr. Adams, keep moving on up!

Put your fist through the wall!

Ok, this is a short blog by most standards. I have not posted in a long time. Since then Billy Mays has died. What a shame! He was the dude to sell you stuff. Anway, I am on a mission with no permission.

Why is it that music, being marketed and played on the radio, SUX! Now I am not one to judge what other people listen to (I have become more tolerant of others and their poor music selection, Becca being one of them {though I do love her very much}), but come on, what is it that is driving these people to listen to this stuff.

Maybe I was raised differently that others, maybe I have an ear for good taste in music. Ok, maybe I just have an ego bigger than others, but I have not listened to any radio station that is commercial in a long time.
If you remember the early and mid 90's, the radio stations almost went the way of playing decent music, but then the boy bands came on the scene and that was where the teens were. Why do teens drive the music industry? I understand they have disposable income that is only spent on crap they think they need, but what about those who have jobs and live on their own (my apologies to those still living at home and are my age).

I have a feeling my audience is currently near or just a slight bit older than what I am. With that, I say, never stop exploring new sounds and new music.

For instance, I have been dropping Mos Def on my Zune and I have been impressed with his lyrical attack. I also have been kicking new Son Volt (I have met the dude with the patch in his hair after a concert here in Chattvegas, cool guy),

and have almost given up on Wilco.

Keep the peace and no more def jam in the holy land!

Do Unto Others and Run Like a Mother

I think I was a little to harsh on my last posting. I will try to be a bit gentler. Unfortunately, music is a big part of me.
Well it's Friday and I am currently at work on a lunch break. It is supposedly nice outside, but I do not know as I have been here since noon and it was cloudy then.
Have you ever noticed someone and thought they look like somebody else, but can't think of who it is. I have that problem all the time. Most people probably think I am staring at them because of some weird attraction, but actually I am in deep thought.
For example, my daughter has a doll that looks like her.

However, every time I look at young Violet, she reminds me of my friend Jennifer. Which creeps me out. Kind of like the doll on Seinfeld that George's finance, Susan, had that looked like George's mom.
Not that Jennifer is like George's mom, but you get the idea. It is a weird feeling, like the actual person is there and they want to talk to you. Thankfully, I have made a personality for Violet and that has helped. Possible counseling will follow.

Also, I am trying to determine if I want to buy a bass guitar, 12 string guitar, harmonica, drum machine, or a combination of the mentioned items. Somehow, I have the urge to try to make music. However, I cannot sing very well and I can't dance, but song structure is very easy to figure out. Now I am not talking like Mozart and that kind of jazz, but most rock, pop, country, dance, and disco, are easy to know when various things happen.

So if you read this, let me know what you think. Maybe I will learn how to upload my 2nd recorded song ever. The first is called "Rainbow". You will never hear that song as it is on cassette tape somewhere and I don't know where it is. However, I now know how to record on my computer. So watch out Michael Jackson (a plug for Mike Dishmon's favourite singer).

They are playing a remake of a Morrisey song, "That's Entertainment" on WFPK. I hope to find out who it is. The have made some new lyrics and it is peppier sounding. Not like Moz at all.

I have to go back to work.

See you on the flip side!

G-Funk postponed/Other things important to discuss!

I have decided to postpone the G-Funk talk to another time.

What is really on my mind is that two of my favorite musical acts have decided to call it quits in the music business and start to write.

The first of the two is the Silver Jews main man David Berman.

This actually makes sense. He is a some kind of wordsmith that has been verified. I cannot remember the acutal word. Anyway, he wants to write a screenplay or something. He also is a published author of poems.

He has had lots of issues with substance abuse in the past, plus his father is Richard Berman, known as "Dr. Evil" in the lobbyist world. From what I have read, I understand why he is upset with his dad.

I wish him and Cassie, his wife and bass player well. I hope he finds the happiness that has eluded him for a while.

The other person that has quit the music business is Ryan Adams. What I find interesting is that he quits the music business to write poetry and then decides to marry pop starlet Mandy Moore. Why??????????? Perhaps he wants to be like David Berman. However, I think Ryan's ego problem has only gone out of control with him being sober and stuff. This can only lead to a bad breakdown if the marriage does not happen or it goes south after a couple of weeks or months.

You only need to see how many songs he wrote about Beth Orton when she dumped him.

My advice to Mandy would be to have the boy tested; as from things that I have read, he is a walking social disease. So, while I have enjoyed most of his music, unlike the Joos, it started to go south after Cold Roses. If you want pure Ryan Adams, check out his releases with Whiskeytown and solo stuff up to Cold Roses. My friend Brad,(the dude in the St. Louis hat) would probably disagree with me on this, but since he is not writing this, too bad.

Finally, I want to send a shout out to the peeps who continue to read this (you know who you are) and if by chance you stumble upon this blog, thanks for hanging around to read.

Peace Out Playas

What's a year and 2 months absence anyway

For the two people who read this, you might notice I have not been writing in a while. Well, perhaps it was laziness, or even a lack of motivation. Whatever the case, I am back and not sure for how long.

I have been studying Harry Allen's blog and I seem to like his style. It's not too long and very informative. You can check him out at www.harryallen.info. I will warn you, there are things there that may not be kid friendly. You of course are an adult, so use your own discretion.

Be ready for the next topic which will be all about the rise and downfall of G-Funk Rap.
